Terms and conditions
Last updated 6 October 2026
These terms apply to the 2027 Prelims Test Series (the "Series") sold on theupscale.app by
Naanjil Technologies Private Limited ("we", "us"). They add to our
Terms of Use and
Privacy Policy, which continue to apply.
By purchasing the Series you agree to these terms.
1. What you get
- Access to the 56 tests listed in the schedule, each on or after its unlock date.
- After you submit a test: your score, the answer key, an explanation for each question, and a breakdown of your performance by subject, topic and difficulty.
- The Series is a separate purchase. It does not include theupscale.app Pro, and Pro does not include the Series.
2. Price and payment
- The Series costs INR 499 as a one-time payment (launch offer). There is no recurring charge.
- The launch offer price may be withdrawn at any time for new purchases. A price change never affects a purchase already made.
- Payments on theupscale.app are processed by Razorpay; a purchase made inside the mobile app is billed by Google Play or the App Store. We do not receive or store your card, UPI or bank details.
- The Series is added to your account when the payment is confirmed, normally within a minute. If your money was debited and the Series is not unlocked, write to us with the payment reference and we will put it right.
3. Unlock dates and rescheduling
- Each test unlocks at 10:00 am Indian Standard Time on the date shown in the schedule.
- Once a test has unlocked you can take it at any time, on any day, for as long as your access lasts. No test has to be taken on its unlock date.
- We may reschedule a test that has not yet unlocked: move its unlock date or time, change the order of tests, or change the syllabus a test covers. We do this only where we consider it necessary, for example if the examination calendar changes, if a paper needs more work before release, or because of a technical problem. The schedule on theupscale.app is the current one, and we will show a change there before the original unlock time wherever we reasonably can.
- A test that has already unlocked stays available. Rescheduling under this section is not a failure to provide the Series.
4. Taking a test
- Every test is timed. The timer starts when you press Start and cannot be paused. It keeps running if you close the page, lose your connection or change device, and you can return to the test while time remains.
- Your answers are saved as you mark them. When the time ends the test is submitted automatically with the answers saved so far.
- Each test can be attempted once. A submitted test cannot be taken again.
- You need a working internet connection and a current web browser or the theupscale.app mobile app for the full duration; these are your responsibility.
5. Marking
- GS Paper I: 100 questions, 200 marks, 120 minutes. +2 for a correct answer, −0.66 for a wrong answer, 0 for a question left unanswered.
- GS Paper II (CSAT): 80 questions, 200 marks, 120 minutes. +2.5 for a correct answer, −0.83 for a wrong answer, 0 for a question left unanswered.
6. Access period
- Your access to the tests, your results and the answer reviews runs until 30 June 2027. After that date they may no longer be available.
- Access is for one person, on one theupscale.app account. Do not share your login or let anyone else take a test on your account.
7. Refunds and cancellation
- The Series is a digital product that is made available as soon as you pay. The fee is non-refundable, and a purchase cannot be cancelled or transferred to another person or account, except where the law requires otherwise.
- If you are charged more than once for the Series, or charged without receiving access that we are unable to restore, we will refund that payment to the original payment method. Write to us within 30 days of the charge.
8. Copyright and use of the content
- © 2026 Naanjil Technologies Private Limited. All rights reserved. The questions, answer keys, explanations, reports, schedule and this document are protected by copyright and belong to us or to those who license them to us.
- Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Series for your own examination preparation during your access period. It gives you no other right in the content.
- The content of the Series is not to be distributed. You must not copy, download, screenshot, photograph, record, print for others, translate, adapt, share, forward, post, publish, sell or otherwise make any part of it available to anyone else, in any form. This includes messaging groups and channels, social media, file-sharing sites, coaching institutes and study groups.
- You must not use automated tools to collect the content, get round any measure that controls access to it, or use it to build or train any product, question bank, dataset or model.
- If an account breaks this section or section 6, we may suspend or end its access without refund, and we may take legal action to stop the misuse and recover our losses.
9. Availability and technical problems
- We work to keep theupscale.app available, but we do not promise that it will work without interruption or error at every moment. It may be unavailable for short periods for maintenance or because of a fault.
- The Series also depends on things we do not control: hosting, internet and telecom networks, the payment gateway, and your own device, browser and connection.
- If a fault on our side stops a test from unlocking on time or interrupts a test you are taking, we will make the test available as soon as we reasonably can and, if you write to us within 7 days, reset the interrupted attempt so that you can take it again.
- If the tests are unavailable for more than 7 days in a row because of a fault on our side, we will extend your access period by the time lost.
- This is how we put an interruption right. An interruption does not entitle you to a refund or to compensation, except where the law requires otherwise.
10. Events outside our control
- We are not responsible for a delay or a failure to provide the Series that is caused by an event outside our reasonable control. Such events include natural disaster, fire, flood, epidemic, war, civil unrest, strikes, an act or order of a government or court (including an internet shutdown), a power cut, the failure of a telecommunications, internet, hosting or payment provider, and a cyber attack.
- While such an event lasts, our obligations are suspended and we may reschedule tests. When it ends we will resume as soon as we reasonably can, and we will extend your access period by the time lost if the tests were unavailable for more than 7 days in a row.
11. Accuracy and results
- The tests are prepared with care but may contain errors. If you find one, tell us; we may correct a question, its answer key or its explanation at any time.
- The Series is a practice product. We are not affiliated with the Union Public Service Commission, and we do not guarantee any score, rank or result in any examination.
12. Our liability
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you in connection with the Series is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including the loss of an opportunity or of an examination result.
- Nothing in these terms takes away a right or a remedy that the law does not allow to be limited or excluded.
- The sections of our Terms of Use on limitation of liability, indemnification and governing law apply to the Series as well. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
13. Changes and contact
- We may update these terms. The version published on theupscale.app applies. An update does not take away access you have already paid for.
- If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest continues to apply.
