How it works
- A prompt appears — try to recall the answer before you flip the card.
- Swipe to rate how well you knew it.
- Cards you struggle with come back sooner; easy ones come back later.
Why it works: this is spaced repetition — reviewing a fact right before you'd naturally forget it (the Ebbinghaus forgetting curve) is one of the most well-established ways to move information into long-term memory.

How it works
- Clues about a person, place, or event are revealed one at a time.
- Guess as early as you can, before all clues are shown.
- Fewer clues used means more points and more XP.
Why it works: guessing before the reveal is the testing effect in action — the act of straining to retrieve an answer strengthens the memory far more than simply reading the same fact again.

How it works
- A fact or clue points to a state or region of India.
- Tap the correct location directly on the map.
- Build accuracy and speed as the map becomes familiar.
Why it works: this uses dual coding theory — pairing a visual/spatial memory (where something is) with a verbal fact (what it is) gives your brain two linked pathways to retrieve the same information later.

How it works
- Four related statements are shown — three true, one false.

Why it works: telling near-identical true and false statements apart forces close, deliberate comparison (discrimination learning) — a well-known way to sharpen precise recall instead of vague, surface-level familiarity.
